BODO supporters and associates Whisper World Orphanage Fund, are celebrating their five year anniversary with a flamboyant fundraising event at the Meininger Hotel in South Kensington.
Back when Whisper founders Veronika Cejpkova and Antonio Genco were in the process of raising funds to launch their charity, they shared their idea with their Maasai friend Saruni Sankon. Sankon’s family members sold exquisite Maasai jewellery and they had the idea to ask friends and acquaintances to take part in a naked photoshoot, wearing just the jewellery. The response from their friends was overwhelming, but the event did not take place as the founders decided to hang on for the right time. Now though, they plan to celebrate five years of Whispers and this photoshoot, by launching the Maasai Whisper Project with a huge fundraising event. All the funds raised from the event will go towards helping Whisper to provide much needed care, shelter, food and education to Uganda’s many orphaned children.
The event will take place on the 26th April at the Meininger Hotel, 65-67 Queen's Gate, South Kensington, London SW7 5JS, with tickets available online for £20 or £25 on the door. The event will feature a talk about Whisper, it’s various achievements, missions and goals, the launch and introduction of the Maasai Whisper Project, a photography slide-show of the Maasai photoshoot, dance, zumba fun, live music, DJ and dance as well as the opportunity to buy some incredible Maasai and African Jewellery. As huge fans of Whisper’s work, members of the BODO team will be attending to show support our support and enjoy the show, if this sounds like something you’d be interested in, check out the website for more information. www.maasaiwhisperproject.org/welcome.html
