Exquisite Design On Display @ Made In London

Here at BODO, we are always on the lookout for new ideas and inspirations and with our base in London, we feel we’re in a
pretty great place to find them! This week, I ventured to the Museum Of London to see the Made in London exhibition, which featured some fantastic pieces of jewellery from 7 of London’s most talented designers.

Something I found almost as inspiring as the intricate and detailed pieces that were on display, was the little messages left by the designers explaining how their creative fires burn and what motivates them to do what they do.
My favourites were Husam el Odeh, (whose desk resembled my own) who wrote “A lot of the pieces I make start with something I found in the street or that somehow ended up in my studio” and Frances Wadsworth-Jones whose message read “I like to take something people wouldn’t normally look at and show them that it can be beautiful. These messages seemed to me similar to the principles behind BODO’s Sandal, as we are taking a product that has been discarded in the car tyres we use to form the sole of the shoe, something that has served its purpose and deemed as waste and we are turning it into something that people will want to wear and a product that will help those who cannot afford footwear!
